The Rangireremoana Wetini Nursing Scholarship was established by Poutiri Trust in 2009 to acknowledge the contribution made by Rangireremoana Wetini to Poutiri Trust and Maori Health within the Bay of Plenty. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage the recruitment of Maori into nursing within the Bay of Plenty. It is awarded to a first year student enrolled in a Bay of Plenty based nursing school.

There were two successful recipients in 2011, each receiving $1,000 for this "Aunty Peggy Wetini" scholarship award.
