The Rangireremoana Wetini Nursing Scholarship was established by Poutiri Trust in 2009 to acknowledge the contribution made by Rangireremoana Wetini to Poutiri Trust and Māori Health within the Bay of Plenty.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage the recruitment of Māori into nursing within the Bay of Plenty. It is awarded to a first year student enrolled in a Bay of Plenty based nursing school. There were three successful recipients in 2010, each receiving $1,000 for this "Aunty Peggy Wetini" scholarship award.
